What the site collects, and where it goes
In short: your image never leaves your computer. The site only counts how many times the pages are opened.
The webcam
The camera turns on only when you press the button. The images and the landmarks of the hand,
body and face are computed inside the browser and stay there: they are not sent,
recorded or saved. It is not just a promise: the security rules of the page
(the Content Security Policy,
connect-src 'self') prevent the browser from sending data to any other
address. When you leave the page, the camera turns off.
What the server receives
- The visit counter. Each time a page is opened, an empty request arrives: the server adds one to the total and saves only that number.
- People connected at the same time. While the camera is on, every 15 seconds the page sends a random number, created when the page opens and never saved, to count how many people are using the site at the same moment. When you leave, the number is forgotten.
- No logs. The web server keeps no log of visits: IP addresses and visited pages are not saved.
No cookies, no statistics, no third-party services: all files come from this site.
The school course
The course pages (/scuola/) are read-only and do not use the camera. The exercises are done in the p5.js web editor, a different site with its own rules: there, hand recognition downloads the ml5.js library and Google's model, but in that case too the webcam images are processed inside the browser.
